ana tips that helped me.
eat slowly and put your food down in between bites. i use this tip when im having a restrictive day, if you are eating an apple, cut up the apple and try scrolling through instagram, tumblr, youtube ect. while you’re eating. wait a few minutes before eating each piece. its all about control. you will start to feel fuller if you take your time with it.
black coffee. people would always tell me to chug water if im hungry but i personally have a weird phobia of water. black coffee suppresses your appetite and will boost your metabolism.
if you are using sweetener in tea or coffee, use it wisely. sweetener has been proven to fuck up people’s metabolism and cause them to gain weight rather than lose it. i highly recommend using alternatives such as honey. one teaspoon has approx 22 calories, although this has more calories it is sweeter than sugar meaning you’ll use less of it and it is made from natural sugars.
when fasting, don’t overwork yourself. i remember when i started, i wouldn’t have anything but coffee, gum and tea for a 3 days then try to do 2 hour run. it’s not realistic and you’re just tiring yourself out. if you feel like you have to do some sort of workout when fasting, go for a walk. don’t stand up too fast and if you’re feeling light headed or nauseous, eat something small. don’t break a fast with a binge. eat a piece of fruit or some veggies.
counting calories is important but so is the macros. if you eat 500 calories in a day, but its made up of 90% carbs and 10% protein; if you don’t burn it off or do weight training, carbs will turn to fat which will make your restricting seem almost pointless and results will take longer. eat more protein! eat carbs and fat in moderation (but don’t avoid them!!).
